SEE HOW YOUR SPOKEN WORDS LOOK LIKE  

Speaking and writing will be highly separated if you learn German at a school.  Most of the time your are paying for you will basically just listen to the teachers voice. The reason why you can not understand big parts of what he or she is telling you is based on the problem that you can't see the written words.

 At a tutoring session I write down most parts of our conversation. Especially at levels like A1 and A2 it will help you tremendously to see your own words on a screen. You will learn much faster how to distinguish words from another which is one of the big obstacles at a the beginning. At higher levels scrips become key to understand and reproduce more complicated sentence structures.

LEARN FORM YOUR HOMEWORK  

Do you often have difficulties with textbooks? Or do you often do not know what an exercise actually wants you to do? Do you get the feeling that your textbook only asks you to solve puzzles instead of helping you to further develop your German? 

Most textbooks are based on a simple testing methodology. You fill out you gaps and solve puzzles. With my own exercises I have developed over the years you will train reading, listening and writing at the same time. Most important: you will learn how to formulate entire sentences from scratch. This is what you need to learn when you want to interact in German in real life.

​German lessons at a classroom are often too fast or too slow. The teacher might try to adapt the speed of his lesson to the average of the learning speed of its students. But the average usually doesn't fit to most of the students. 

Following your personal learning speed is one of the key factors why tutoring is so efficient. You will never waste a lesson because it's too boring or too difficult. If you miss a lesson you will start exactly at the same point you left the last time.

TALK TO A NATIVE AND NOT TO A STUDENT  

One of the biggest difficulties a classroom session is the problem that students will have no chance to talk to a native speaker. Most of this very limited time you are able to actually have a conversation will be wasted by talking to the other student across the table. That mean you will copy and reduce all the errors and mistakes of your fellow students.  

In a private German lesson with me you will instead interact with a native German speaker 100 percent of the time. I will correct your German while you speak and I will give you little hints so you learn how to correct yourself.

GERMAN GRAMMAR EXPLAINED IN GERMAN? 

​German language schools tend to teach German grammar in German only. They claim this immersive approach would be in the interest of the students. Anyone who has taken an A1 or A2 class knows this is not working very well. 

Grammar can help you to understand and to use more difficult parts of a language. If you don't understand it easily it becomes nothing else than a burden. By using bilingual teaching materials, I will make sure you understand any grammatical obstacle in an instant. All you need is very basic English.  

* CANCELLATION POLICY: You can cancel every class within 24 hours. If you cancel your German lesson within less than 24 hours I charge 50 percent of the rate we agreed on. If you cancel within less than one hour I might charge the full price.

​Sitting in a class room means you will have a very limited time to actual speak German. On average you speak 5 minutes per 45 min max. 

In a tutoring session you will actually interact in German full time. Even at an A1 level I will make you speak German sentences form the very first lesson. In order to reach the same amount of speaking-time you get in one 45 min session with me you you would need to book about 10 classes (45 min each) at a school.
